If you like untracked snow skiing, join Roger Kleen for cat skiing. The snow cat operation near Lake Irwin gets a lot of snow because they ski on the first ridge encountered by westerly winds out of Grand Junction which may get 800 inches a year. The cost for snow cat skiing at Crested Butte is $500 per day unless we fill the cat at 10 people and then it is $450 per day. Lodging and meals in Crested Butte are extra. There is a small building where lunch can be eaten. It takes 45 minutes to get from Crested Butte to the ski area. They are not taking reservations yet so let me know what dates work best for you: vailrog@yahoo. com or call 970-784-8964.
