Summer Solstice Dinner & Dance

Join us for the annual Summer Solstice Dinner and Dance. Cash bar opens at 6:30 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner including salad, grilled fresh fish and herb crusted chicken breast, side items and dessert. Harris and Harris will be playing dance music. Bravo! Kickoff Brunch

Back by popular demand we are kicking off the Bravo! season with a Sunday Brunch on opening day. The festivities begin with drinks – cash bar – followed by a buffet brunch at The Four Seasons. New Members’ Party

This party is for new Vail Club 50 members who joined for the first time in 2011/2012 and have not yet attended a New Members’ Party. We hope you can join us for wine and hors d’oeuvres hosted by Dale & Jeanne Mosier. You will learn more about the activities that go on in this wonderful club and meet our hiking, biking, golf and tennis coordinators as well as the Board members. There is no cost for this event. Vail History & Art Walk

Thursday, July 12, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.

You will begin your day at 10 a.m. meeting at the Vail Ski Museum for a guided tour of Vail Village and the public art collection. After an introduction to the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum, the tour winds its way through the Village with discussions on the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the Village, and the importance of site-specific art. The Town’s public art collection includes 40 works ranging from painting, sculptures, murals, and playground components to site-integrated art. You will end at The Sebastian for lunch at 11:30. Or you can begin with lunch at The Sebastian at 11:30 and leave for the tour back to the Ski Museum at 1 p.m. Lunch will include salad, a choice of one of three entrees and dessert. Wine and Dine Dinners

Tuesday, July 17, 6 p.m.

Touch base with old friends and make new ones while enjoying a delicious dinner. The host provides the venue house, orchestrates the menu and prepares a main course. Guests are assigned to a home and contacted by the host; they bring the course requested by the host (appetizer, salad, side dish or dessert) for approximately 8 people and a bottle of wine or other drink to share. Everyone is encouraged to participate (singles too).

Breakfast at the Lodge at Cordillera

Thursday, July 19, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

The annual Wolcott breakfast has been moved to a new venue. Gather at the Lodge at Cordillera for our annual traditional breakfast. Enjoy the beautiful views while meeting with friends after either a leisurely drive up or a vigorous biking experience. If you can’t bike all the way, leave your bike at the gatehouse and the Lodge will send a shuttle to pick you up for the rest of the way. The cost is $20 for members or $27 for nonmembers.

Historic Redstone Inn – Hike & Bike

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, July 24-26

Please join us for our inaugural trip to historic Redstone for hiking and biking adventures. We have held
10 rooms at the historic Redstone Inn for the nights of July 24 and 25. Queen rooms are $99 and King rooms are $120. This charming and historic Victorian mining town is a jewel. Cyclists can be dropped off in Carbondale to bike the 17 miles (first 7 on a bike path) up to this lovely hamlet on the banks of the Crystal River, while others proceed by car. Once there, choose between outstanding hiking (it is at the foot of McClure Pass), fly fishing, cycling (either up the pass or on to Marble) or tour the historic Redstone Castle built by mining magnate John Cleveland Osgood in the 19th century. In between activities, browse the galleries and shops along the river in the town. Rooms are being held for us until mid-May; so don’t delay making your reservation.

Swing Jazz Party & Dance

Thursday, August 2, 5 p.m.
Arrabelle Plaza

Join us for a private pre-party under the Jazz Tent. All guests will be treated to a swing dance class by professional dancers for approximately 40 minutes followed by open dancing to the band Hot Tomatoes.

Vail Club members will be given reserved seats in the front portion of the tent for the show, which begins at 6 p.m. Cash bar. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Lake Dillon Boat Trip

Climb aboard a PONTOON BOAT for a 3-hour scenic cruise or hop on a SAILBOAT for an adventure! Last year’s trip was so successful we’ve expanded the options, the number and type of boats and changed the location. We’ll be leaving at 11 a.m. PROMPTLY from FRISCO Marina this year. Returning by 2 p.m. Gather your friends, bring your lunch and drinks and enjoy Colorado by water!

Presidents’ Dinner Dance

Dinner dance featuring the Fabulous Femmes !!!

Sonnenalp Resort

Members of the Vail Club 50 will gather for the annual Presidents’ Dinner Dance in the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail. The evening will begin with a cash bar cocktail hour followed by dinner, which will include salad, a choice of entrée (2 choices will be made available the night of the event) and dessert. Music will be provided by the Fabulous Femmes. Valet parking will be complimentary, BUT WILL BE LIMITED. Car-pooling is suggested.

Cost for the event is $45 for members and $65 for nonmembers. Your hosts for this evening are Marla and Barry Shainman and Eileen and Nick Sordi.

Get those cowboy boots and hats out, we’re having a good old Western BBQ at Oylers Ranch, 9273 Brush Creek Road, Eagle. Join us for BBQ brisket and all the trimmings. Lemonade, ice tea, and soft drinks will be provided, but if you would like a cold beer or a nice glass of wine you will need to bring your own. The cost for the evening will be $25 for members and $38 for nonmembers.

You can choose to play 3 hours of round robin tennis at Beaver Creek, or a 9-hole scramble at the Country Club of the Rockies or just come to dinner to enjoy hearing the tall stories of the day. DINNER ONLY is an option for this event. Restaurant: The Vista at Arrowhead: $35 per person. Dinner only checks, are payable to Vail Club 50, are to be sent to Skip and ileen at the address given above. We gather for dinner at The Vista at 5:30 p.m. for a social gathering to share all of the Triumphs of Victory and the Agonies of Defeat during the day. There is a cash bar, followed by hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, and awards. Golf and tennis attire is acceptable, although collared shirts are required for dinner.
